A Little About Me – How My Love of Dollmaking Became a Dream

From Little Doll Dresses to My Very Own Dollmaking Shop

As far back as I can remember, dolls have always held a very special place in my heart.

My love of making and dressing dolls began when I was just four or five years old. Even at that young age, I was happily creating little dresses for my dolls, and by the time I was eight, I had learned how to knit and crochet.

Little did I know that those early stitches would be the beginning of a lifelong passion!

Over the years, my love of dolls grew into something even more special — porcelain dollmaking. There is something truly magical about taking individual pieces and transforming them into a beautiful doll, each with its own personality and character.

But there was one little problem...

I often struggled to find the dollmaking supplies I wanted here in the UK. So many wonderful products seemed to be available elsewhere, but were difficult to get hold of in England.

After listening to me complain about this for years, my wonderful husband, David, finally said:

“Why don't you start your own shop?”

Well, you can imagine my excitement!

It was like taking a child into the biggest toy shop imaginable and saying, “Choose whatever you like!”

I was in heaven!

And so, the adventure began.

It took me over eighteen months of searching, researching and gathering together the products I wanted to offer before my website was finally ready.

I can't tell you how many evenings turned into very late nights — sometimes well past four o'clock in the morning — as I searched for beautiful dollmaking supplies and those elusive little treasures that were so difficult to find in the UK.

But do you know what?

I loved every minute of it!

For me, this has never been simply about running a shop. It's about sharing something I genuinely love with other dollmakers.

I know how frustrating it can be when you have a special project in mind but can't find the right materials to bring it to life. That's why I want my shop to be somewhere fellow dollmaking enthusiasts can discover useful supplies, beautiful products and perhaps even a little inspiration for their next creation.

And the adventure certainly hasn't stopped!

I'm always looking for more dollmaking goodies, exploring new products and adding to the website whenever I discover something I think other dollmakers might enjoy.

I've also started creating HOW TO GUIDES, sharing helpful tips and information for beginners and experienced dollmakers alike.

Because one of the loveliest things about dollmaking is that there's always something new to learn, something beautiful to create and another little treasure waiting to be discovered.
